Configuration of the Serial Interfaces of the CM574-RS

In the standard configuration, the two serial interfaces COM1 and COM2 of the CM574-RS are pre-assigned with the “Online access” protocol. Thus, online access from CoDeSys can occur via one of the two interfaces with the serial driver “Serial (RS232)” or “ABB RS232 AC”.

As for the AC500 CPUs, selection of another protocol is done by selecting the respective interface, clicking the right mouse button to open the selection menu and selecting the desired protocol.

The protocols have the same properties as for the serial interfaces of the AC500 CPUs PM57x, PM58x and PM59x. You will find further information about the individual protocols with respective links to the documentation “System Technology CPUs” in the next chapter.

The current interface settings can be displayed with the PLC browser command “com settings”.
