System Assembly, Construction and Connection

Use the following list as a reference for setting up your AC500 PLC system.

For an AC500-eCo PLC system, use the description of the AC500-eCo Starter-Kit: AC500-eCo Starter Kit

Note

:strong:Consider the Safety Instructions

In the description, special attention must be paid to designs using electrical isolation, earthing and EMC measures for the reasons stated. Consider the safety instructions for AC500 product family Safety Instructions.

  1. Assemble and mount the AC500 control system either to DIN rail or to a metal plate Assembly: Mounting and Demounting

    Attention

    :strong:Avoidance of electrostatic charging

PLC devices and equipment is sensitive to electrostatic discharge, which can cause internal damage and affect normal operation. Observe the following rules when handling the system:

    • Touch a grounded object to discharge potential static.
    • Wear an approved grounding wrist strap.
    • Do not touch connectors or pins on component boards.
    • Do not touch circuit components inside the equipment.
    • If available, use a static-safe workstation.
    • When not in use, store the equipment in appropriate static-safe packaging.
