Flashdisk¶
The Flashdisk is an internal remanent mass storage device and can be used for any application purpose. It has a memory capacity of 4 GB (preformatted).
It is capable of high data throughput, but the actual achievable throughput is also use case depended. If the performance seems to get insufficient, check the following factors:
High CPU load of the PLC:
Reduce overall CPU load of the PLC to have more performance for file operations
Low available free space on the device:
Cleanup disk to free space
Cluster size is 4 kB - Consider this in your application design to achieve optimal usage of the flashdisks space and access performance (e.g. 10 files with 10 Byte each require 10*4 kB disk space, while 1 file with 100 Byte requires only 4 kB).
Fragmentation of the device:
Cleanup disk to free space.
