Mechanical Encoding¶
Possible positions for mechanical encoding (1 to 18)
Attention
Terminal Units (S500) S500 Terminal Units, overview and CPU Terminal Bases (AC500) TB51x-TB54x have an mechanical coding which prevents that modules are inserted to wrong places. Otherwise
- dangerous parasitic voltages could occur or
- modules could be destroyed.
The coding either makes it impossible to insert the module to the wrong place or blocks its electrical function (outputs are not activated).
The following figures show the possible encodings.
For CPUs with Ethernet:
TB511-ETH TB521-ETH TB523-2ETH TB541-ETH
For CPUs with ARCNET:
TB511-ARCNET TB521-ARCNET TB541-ARCNET
For FBP Interface Modules e.g. DC505-FBP:
TU505 TU506
For Real-Time Ethernet Modules:
TU507-RT-ETH TU508-RT-ETH
For Bus Modules:
TU509/510 TU517/518
For I/O Modules 24 V DC:
TU515 TU516
For PROFINET® IO Bus Modules:
TU520
For I/O Modules 120/230 V AC:
TU531 TU532
For Positioning Modules:
TU541 TU542
For S500 CS31 Modules:
