Handling of AC500 Projects

Handling of AC500 projects such as project creation, export/import, comparison of projects etc. is described in the sections for

Copy-and-paste from one project to another project in two different Automation_Builder instances is possible. After copying parts of a project to a higher Automation_Builder version the copied components have to be updated.

Note

It is not possible to downgrade a project to an earlier Automation_Builderversion.

Note

  • Import of export files is only allowed in the same profile version.
  • Copy-and-paste of configurations must not be used to copy objects to an earlier version.

Note

Automation_Builder performs an integrity check for the PLC configuration before generating the configuration.

Project Archive

Automation_Builder supports the creation and the import of project archive files. Archive files contain all relevant project data including the PLC configuration, the IEC 61131-3 editor project files and all device descriptions. This allows exchanging Automation_Builder projects without taking care of the target environment General Settings: General Settings

User and Access Rights of a Project

The ‘User Management’ provides functions for defining user accounts and configure the access rights within a project. The rights to access project objects via specified actions are assigned only to user groups, not to a single user account. So each user must be member of a group General Settings: General Settings
