Firmware Version Information

  • Online functionality, only available when Automation Builder is logged in PLC
  • The “Version Information” page displays the version identified on the device (CPU in table “PLC” and communication module in table “Communication Modules”) and the version provided with Automation Builder
  • Firmware on devices must match to the Automation Builder version, upgrade or downgrade to version supplied with Automation Builder is suggested (especially for CPUs) to ensure correct functionality.
  • The type of the firmware can be changed to the type required by the hardware configuration for devices that support changing the firmware type. E.g. the onboard field bus communication modules of PM595 that may be used as PROFINET or EtherCAT communication module.

Only for communication modules if CPU firmware must be updated first. This happens when CPU firmware has version below 2.5.0.0.

Note

The “Update Firmware” button to download the new firmware is only enabled if there is updateable firmware.
