CFC Editor

You add elements to the CFC editor by dragging them from the ToolBox view. As an alternative, you can use the commands in the CFC menu.

You link the input and output pins of the elements by dragging a connecting line. CODESYS creates the connecting lines automatically in the shortest distance between the elements (autorouting). When you move an element, the connecting lines are adapted automatically. If you move an element to a position that causes the connections of routed elements to overlap, then a collision will result. This is indicated by a red outline around the connection symbol ( 64f1a8e9e36bd20fc0a8640e01907537_acb0f97f4ed9e65ec0a8640e0017b34c ). The overlapping connections are indicated in the editor by a connecting lines that are outlined in red.

When you select the pointer ( 64f1a8e9e36bd20fc0a8640e01907537_90e9d71c496f8931c0a8640e010d7ad0 ) from the toolbox, the shape of the cursor becomes an arrow. Then you can select inserted elements in the editor view to position and edit them. CODESYS provides the option of grouping together several elements.

For complex diagrams, ToolBox view provides connection marks that you can insert instead of connection lines.

Note

In this editor, you can drag a variable from the declaration section to a block pin. Then the variable is inserted as an input or output element and connected automatically to the block pin.

You can drag a variable from the declaration section to an input or output element. Then the variable is assigned to the element.

Note

If you select an input pin and press Ctrl+Left Arrow, then the respective output pin is selected. If you select an output pin and press Ctrl+Left Arrow, then the respective output pin is selected (or several).

In the View tab of the CODESYS options (CFC Editor category), you can configure the color display of the connecting lines depending on the data type.
